Commercial Manager

We have an opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join a specialist contractor operating within the rail infrastructure sector. The business delivers a broad range of integrated services spanning rail, civil engineering, signalling, and safety-critical works. Known for its commitment to safety, quality, and collaborative delivery, it has built strong, long-term partnerships with clients and stakeholders across the UK. As part of their continued expansion, they’re seeking a Commercial Manager to take ownership of commercial functions across multiple workstreams. This pivotal role will focus on cost control, contract management, forecasting, and driving the successful commercial performance of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead commercial operations across a portfolio of rail and infrastructure projects
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, valuations, final accounts, and contractual correspondence
  • Provide accurate forecasting, cost reporting, and budget control
  • Oversee change control processes and ensure compliance with NEC contracts and client frameworks
  • Collaborate with operational teams to maximise value and performance
  • Support leadership with strategic input and commercial best practice

About You:

  • Proven experience in a commercial management role within rail or civil engineering
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial frameworks
  • Highly numerate and analytical, with excellent cost control skills
  • Collaborative, solutions-focused, and commercially driven
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related field
