Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor – Rail / M&E

TRIbuild Solutions is recruiting a talented Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor with M&E experience to strengthen the commercial team within our clients’ ambitious and growing Rail Division. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a range of high-profile projects with valued clients such as Network Rail, Transport for London, and Train Operating Companies.

You’ll play a key role in managing civil engineering and rail infrastructure contracts, including pre-contract work, contract administration, and commercial management. This role will require some travel to regional offices, including Heathrow, Gatwick, and Sidcup.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Providing commercial expertise across various framework and stand-alone projects, ensuring successful delivery.

  • Collaborating with a team of skilled professionals to coordinate all aspects of project delivery.

  • Managing the pre-contract process – forecasting, measurement, sub-contract tendering, and procurement.

  • Handling the commercial side of projects, including valuations, budget monitoring, material/plant reconciliation, and contract variations.

  • Managing and closing out final accounts.

  • Identifying, reviewing, and mitigating commercial and contractual risks.

  • Maximising cash flow through effective control, valuation of works, invoicing, and payments.

  • Ensuring compliance with all contractual and legislative requirements.

  • Preparing and presenting Monthly Cost Value Reports.

  • Promoting a collaborative working environment with clients and project teams.

  • Providing commercial guidance on significant variations and managing disputes proactively.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (or equivalent).

  • Experience in a similar role with a strong track record of delivering projects within budget.

  • Strong background in civil infrastructure or civil engineering contracts.

  • Previous experience with NEC and JCT forms of contract.

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently and within a team.

  • Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel.

  • Professional communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
